Begonnen als pioniers en harde werkers; de familie Giesswein heeft de kleine werkplaats waar op verzoek breiwerk werd gemaakt, uitgebouwd tot een fabriek waar duizenden producten per jaar worden gemaakt.

Elisabeth und Walter Giesswein richten het bedrijf Giesswein op. Breiwerken voor individuele klanten zij de standaard enworden snel gevolgd door de eerste testen met wasmachines.

The first industrial milling machine

The following success enables the purchase of the first industrial milling machine. With these milling jackets the small company was represented at a fashion fair for the first time. At the fair of Salzburg Mr and Mrs Giesswein were able to present their Original Walkjanker in a niche of the Steinadler exhibition ground.

1964 New milling techniques

New milling techniques

The ongoing development of new milling techniques by Giesswein pays off: the milled jacket "Davos" proves itself as big seller Little after Elisabeth Giesswein, who since ever has been responsible fort he Collection, created a second Walkjanker model named „Zillertal“. Gradually the complete yearly collection was extended by new models. In addition to the milling jackets very soon suitable hats became available. Elizabeth created the so-called Fritz cap, a felt cap with sign and ear protection.

Giesswein starts the production of its famous slipper socks. Quite soon, the slippers enjoyed of large popularity on in- and foreign markets and became a sensational sales hit.

1983 First women´s combination collection

First women´s combination collection

A new collection idea is introduced at Giesswein´s with the first women´s combination collection. Suitable skirts made of wool, cotton or viscose offer a versatile combinable ensembles together with cotton and line blouses.

1985 Giesswein for Kids

Kids-Collection

The Giesswein fashion is expanded by the first independent kids´ collection. Merry colors and fantastic applications correspond exactly to the desire of the small ones for more merrily, pleasantly basic clothes. The child program covers also the baby collection with milling jackets in tender pastel inks.

1986 Giesswein in Paris

The first appliqué jacket

The first appliqué jacket conquers the Prêt à Porter in Paris. Sales become international through the foundation of a new sales office in Italy.

1994 Kids´ leather shoes

Kids´ leather shoes

Giesswein puts on kids´ leather shoes. Soft leather provides for optimal comfort for the first going attempts.
